The story

FOX 2 Detroit reports that Dearborn police responded to an attempted home break-in early on October 7. Infrared drone video followed the suspect’s movements as ground officers approached. Officers located the person hiding in bushes and made an arrest without incident, according to the report.

The VES perspective

Dearborn’s October 7 response shows how infrared drone video can help ground teams track a suspect. For teams evaluating autonomous response, Nightingale’s Blackbird can launch autonomously in under 20 seconds and provide live aerial video to support incident assessment.

The reports do not identify the drone manufacturer or establish autonomous operation during this incident. Nightingale is VES’s related response-planning perspective, with no involvement claimed. The under-20-second figure describes autonomous launch, not arrival or time to locate a person.
