The story

VDOT schedules final paving and striping at the Popes Head Road bridge, its ramp to northbound Fairfax County Parkway, and the southbound parkway ramp to Popes Head Road. Closures are planned from 7 p.m. October 21 to 5 a.m. October 22 and from 7 p.m. October 22 to 5 a.m. October 23, weather permitting, with signed detours. The official project page was updated October 21; it does not display an original publication date.

The VES perspective

For crews planning similar night work, lighting deserves a review from both the work area and nearby traffic lanes. Blue Vigil’s AL1000 provides tethered overhead illumination. Teams evaluating it should consider work-area coverage, glare, overhead clearance, power and site conditions as part of the lighting plan.

This is a lighting-planning comparison. VDOT’s notice does not identify Blue Vigil or VES equipment or involvement, a lighting deficiency, or a safety incident. The scheduled work is weather dependent and has not been represented as completed. No performance or prevention outcome is promised.
