The story

The North Dakota Department of Transportation scheduled I-94 maintenance in Fargo from 10 p.m. on October 8 until 5 a.m. on October 9, 2026. Crews were scheduled to replace damaged crash barrels beneath the 42nd Avenue overpass, then patch eastbound and westbound lanes between Main Avenue and Veterans Boulevard.

The VES perspective

Keeping a changing work area visible throughout an overnight shift is a practical planning challenge. Blue Vigil’s AL1000 offers portable, tethered overhead lighting worth evaluating for night roadwork, with clearance, site layout and traffic controls guiding the fit.

NDDOT does not identify lighting equipment or report a lighting deficiency. Blue Vigil AL1000 is a related solution discussed by VES, not equipment reported as used on this project. The overpass work does not establish suitability for a tethered lighting system beneath it; overhead clearance must be assessed for each location.
